PANEL DISCUSSION - A DIGITAL DILEMMA
|
|
Sunday 04 August 2013, 2.00PM
With Alan Dove, Karyn Flett, Lester de Vere & Richard Linton
Moderated by Terry Wreford Hann
Should we be selling digital files to our clients and if so under what circumstances. Are we doing our clients, and photography, a disservice by selling the digital files. Lets face it, are your grand children going to even know what a USB stick is let alone access it in twenty or one hundred years time.
On the other hand, everyone wants to view images on digital devices today and perhaps we should we be changing the way we do things in light of current technologies. Come along to our “digital dilemma” discussion, and hear what a diverse panel of photographers think, with opportunity for audience comments and Q & A’s.

INFOCUS SHOOT OUT
|
|
Monday 05 August 2013, 1.30PM
with Rachael Hale McKenna, Russell Hamlet & Jackie Ranken
Facilitated by Gregory Heisler
|
|
Each photographer will be told the subject of their photograph just before they are to shoot. They are then given five minutes in which they need to communicate to the audience their idea and how they plan to achieve it. They are then given 20 minutes each within which to create their image live.
The photographers are allowed to use anything and anyone in the room as an aid to their shot. The facilitator, Gregory Heisler will communicate with each of the photographers as they make their image, asking them what it is they are doing and why.
Once the three shots have been made, the audience will chose their favourite image by applauding each one as they are presented. The loudest is deemed the most popular!

Russell Hamlet
I’ve been a member of the NZIPP for over 20 years and from word go we undertook the responsibility of running a commercial studio and all that entails. Even after all that time I still have the energy for both the fun and challenge of it all. Long enough too I guess to have the privilege of being in the company of these two rockstars !!! I’m nervous but.....
