Message from the NZIPP Board
Hi everyone! Kris Anderson here, with an update on what’s going on and your NZIPP board is working on at the moment.
Asia-Pacific Photography Awards
Judging is now underway for the Asia-Pacific Photography Awards! If you’ve entered – good luck, and we hope the judges see what you want them to see. Don’t forget to promote your entries as part of the People’s Choice awards – they close on Sunday around midnight, so get in now and promote your work!
Top 20 category finalists are announced from noon on Wednesday 25th March, and the exciting winner announcements kick off from noon on Monday 30th March. All of the dates and details (including links to the future livestreamed top 10 judging) are at https://asiapacificphotoawards.com/.
The Honours Team is working really hard on the Asia-Pacific Photography Awards, and it shows! Thanks for all of your hard work, legends.
New Zealand Photo Show
The NZ Photo Show is just around the corner, and hopefully you’re enjoying the announcements of the amazing speakers we have on board for you! We’ll keep those announcements coming over the next week or two – no matter your speciality or interests, there are speakers that you’re going to love. And that’s along with all of the fab events and activities that make this such an important event for us each year. I really love reconnecting with everyone at the NZ Photo Show, and I can’t wait to see everybody there!
And don’t forget our major sponsor Sony is giving away a $11,000 camera package to one lucky ticket buyer! Entry is simple – buy a ticket to the NZ Photo Show (1 or 2 days), join Sony Scene for free, and you’re in with a chance! All the details (including the camera and lens package, which, oof, looks amazing) are here: https://nzphotoshow.co.nz/prize/
Many of you will see that Karolina Stus is one of our new board members for 2025-2026. She’s doing amazing things with recruiting and coordinating our speakers for the NZ Photo Show. Thanks Karolina!
While we’re very much focused on the 2026 NZ Photo Show, our thoughts are also turning to next year. In 2027 we will be launching a fresh new format for the event. Stay tuned!
Crazy discounts for Accredited Members with the N3 Card
New Zealand Accredited members have access to some pretty great discounts thanks to the N3 card. If you’ve been watching the community page, you’ll see Tony Stewart just saved nearly 50% on an external SSD at Noel Leeming’s, and Karoline saved nearly 25% on paints. Make sure you’re taking advantage of it!
Strong results at the Icon Awards
NZIPP members represented really well at the recent Icon International Photography Awards in Las Vegas. Congratulations to all of our members flying the flag! When you post about your wins, and you’re tagging the Icon Awards, don’t forget to tag NZIPP as well so we can share too and get you some additional reach!
Thank you Marama Shearer!
After years of dedicated service, Marama Shearer is stepping down as the Regional Representative for Waikato/BOP. It is a massive effort to pull a region together, welcome and support new members, and organise events year after year. Marama – a huge Thank You from the board for everything you have given NZIPP over this time! It is truly appreciated; you’re an inspiration to all of us.
That’s it from me! Hope you and your businesses are thriving, and we’ll see you next time!
